I really thought that this was a good product. But upon receiving the 205 I saw a warning that states there is a chance that you could get cancer from wearing it! So that was a huge turn off for me. I mean who wants to wear something that gives them cancer. Its stupid! Besides that point the product is really good. . . but i think sticking with a old fashion stop watch isnt that bad of an idea especially since you can calculate ur distance using sites like http://www. favoriterun. com/home/welcome. And you're really getting the same result and saving a lot of money. . . It took me a while to realize that. . . but hey if u like to spend tons of money by all means go ahead.

I wanted the Forerunner to measure my running route distances and to keep track of my pace per mile and the device does both of those things flawlessly. As people have mentioned, it does take a minute or two to find the satellites when you first power it on. It doesn't seem to find them any faster on subsequent power ups, either. Once found though, I've never lost a signal in the suburbs where I run.

The menus are relatively easy to navigate. I didn't have any trouble turning on the features that I wanted (autopause and 1 mile laps). The display is large and the default shows the elapsed time, your pace, and distance traveled. I haven't been able to figure out how to show the current time (because I don't wear a watch when I'm wearing the Forerunner). The Forerunner beeps when you complete a lap (in my case, after each mile of my run) and displays your pace for that lap for a few seconds. The beep isn't terribly loud (you can't hear it if you're listening to an iPod for example), but I think that's a good thing.

The Forerunner is surprisingly lightweight. No issues there.

I've managed to upload my runs to GoogleEarth and it's fun to see your running routes on a satellite map. The software that comes with the Forerunner will also allow you to see your pace vs elevation, for example, as your progress along your run.

All in all, the Forerunner does exactly what I bought it for and I'm quite happy with it.

I am sure that this is a great product, but I never received the shipment from Amazon. When I didn't receive the USPS shipment, I called Amazon and they promised to send another Garmin. Then, they informed me that the product was out of stock, so they would have to refund my money. I still don't have a Garmin, so I will be buying it elsewhere.

Very strange, Amazon discounts you from USD 350 to a price of around USD 250. Nice you would say, isn't it? USD 100 discount, wow. Wrong, the suggested retail price of Garmin is USD 268!!!
So, your discount is 'only' about USD 18. That's something different. the reall price with a discount of USD 100 should be USD 160 or so.
