This product works good only if very close to mounth. with window open picks up so much noise that other person can not hear you.

Not a knock on the product, just an FYI: This won’t work with a GO 720. It’ll plug in, but doesn’t pick up sound.

Using the Tom-Tom hands-free Bluetooth feature is next to worthless when you have to lean towards the unit and almost shout into it. This external microphone fixes that. The clip is plenty big to fit around the edge of your visor, so it stays right above your head. To talk, I just tilt the visor slightly down (not enough to block my view of the road, of course) and speak normally. I’ve been told the sound is about as good as if I’m speaking directly into my phone, without any hands-free devices. You can’t ask for much more than that!
